Lazercat Director of Operations Job Description

Located in the mountains outside of Idaho Springs, Lazercat is a cannabis company dedicated
to producing the highest-quality product while having fun doing it. We specialize in high-quality
solventless concentrates and cartridges. We are looking for a full-time Director of Operations
who is a dedicated, reliable and positive person and who can lead a team and be a role model. 
This is a key position which will be essential to the production and sustainment of the Lazercat
brand. We love working in the mountains and think you will too.
Colorado resident, MED badge, and mountain winter driving experience and vehicle required.

Job Summary:
● The Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day activities at Lazercat, ensuring that
the organization is performing efficiently and effectively.
● The Director of Operations acts as a key role model by upholding the culture and values
of Lazercat, modeling healthy work-life balance, modeling effective leadership, keeping a
finger on the pulse of the team, and taking action to support the team and boost morale
when needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
● Organizes and oversees the work of department managers.
● Works closely with the HR Manager to:
○ Hire departmental managers
○ Conduct departmental manager performance reviews
○ Implement Performance Improvement Plans for department managers as
○ Handle termination of employees
● Works with the Workforce Development Specialist to train department managers.
● Works with the Director of Business Development to ensure purchasing is within budget
parameters and production is proceeding in line with forecasts.

● Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which
Lazercat’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for
● Ensures operations and procedures are compliant with all MED rules and regulations.
● Reviews, analyzes, evaluates and edits Standard Operating Procedures.
● Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
● Ensures work environments are adequate and safe; works with department managers to
identify areas for improvement and see related projects to completion.
● Oversees grow, hash-making, packaging and fulfillment departments, ensuring each is
reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
● Facilitates and leads Whole Team Meetings and Whole Team Cleaning sessions;
facilitates Leadership Huddle Meetings for department managers.

● Communicates and explains new policies and procedures to department managers; for
major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions,
and maintain morale.
● Leads coordination and integration of all departments to promote smooth and efficient
● Handles scheduled and unscheduled inspections by the MED, local law enforcement,
fire department and department of agriculture.
● Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
● Thorough knowledge of cultivation, concentrate production, packaging and fulfillment
with openness to learning new methods.
● Understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
● Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
● Superior managerial, leadership and diplomacy skills.
● Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive and METRC; proficiency in
Leaflink and Quickbooks Online preferred but not required.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
● Extensive management and leadership experience.
● Extensive and diversified background with at least 4 years of related experience.
● At least 4 years of cannabis industry experience.

Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Prolonged periods of standing and conducting physically demanding tasks.
● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

● Starting salary at $100,000 per year, which may be negotiated depending on skills,
experience and qualifications.
